Zogenix Office
In collaboration with Revel Architecture & Design + Zogenix, a biopharmaceutical company providing therapeutic solutions to patients with neurological conditions, Lesley Ray created a unique workplace design that embodies the company’s values & mission. This design was driven by an understanding of the neurology of the brain’s connective tissue.
Lesley acted as Lead Designer & led design, design/project management, furniture coordination, mechanical coordination, lighting coordination, security coordination, permitting (including change of occupancy), & construction administration for this 40,000 sqft full-suite buildout in a timeline of 6 months from initial concept through certificate of occupancy.

Just as neurons provide electric charge to the human body, lighting draws an architectural parallel by bringing a space to life.
Lesley identified three opportunities as points of experiential connectivity: two circulation corridors linking the north & south open office spaces act as “connective tissue,” while the reception area is representative of “the brain.”
To show the significance of these moments, each is embedded with a custom light fixture abstracted from the geometry of brain waves – a subtle nod to Zogenix’s commitment to neurological therapeutic solutions.

The reception area is indicative of “the brain" — acting as the central hub for the office.
